As I pointed out on the first occasion this question was asked (see comment on the main question page):
According to Wikiquote, "there are no known contemporary records or accounts substantiating that [Abraham Lincoln] ever made [this] statement. The earliest known appearance is October 29, 1886 ... " Wikiquote notes that it has also been attributed to Phineas T. Barnum, and The Oxford Dictionary of Quotations makes the same comment.
